Giving back and encouraging the development of a valuable cause are key components of Bravura’s corporate values. Over the past year, the company has been involved in a series of philanthropic initiatives, aimed at making a beneficial and durable impact on EMEA communities. The Broadgate Community Fund is among Bravura’s most recent charitable efforts.

What is Broadgate?

Broadgate is a lively neighbourhood located in central London, which also hosts one of Bravura’s global offices. Its 32-acre area is a melting pot of different cultures and businesses. Some of the world’s largest financial, legal, media and technology companies are based here and every year an average of 19 million people visit this space, for either work or leisure. British Land, one of the UK’s leading property firms, along with their partners, have been investing £1.5 billion to improve the campus and its community over a long period.

Introducing the Broadgate Community Fund

This is the result of an effective collaboration between Bravura and other Broadgate-based companies who demonstrated their willingness to improve the future of this community. Thanks to the unique partnership between Bravura, British Land, The London Community Foundation, App Dynamics, Herbert Smith FreehillsLBBW, Peel Hunt, Sir Robert McAlpine, Twenty One Engineering, William Blair and Western Asset, an outstanding £100,000 has been raised for the Broadgate Community Fund. This donation was made by all the generous organisations who, like Bravura, contributed to this project.

Making a Valuable Impact

The Fund represents a precious investment in the future of the district. It aims to help a wide range of community-led organisations tackle important issues, such as mental and physical health, youth development, elderly care and homelessness.

Bravura’s General Counsel and Global D&I Leader, Nigel Liddell, as well as Emma Carscadden, Global Head of Workspace, are actively involved in this partnership. Their invaluable experience ensures that a contribution was offered by Bravura to support the Broadgate community in the long term.

Commenting on this achievement, Emma says: I am very proud that Bravura has partnered with the Broadgate Community Fund for its first year and to work with all the other organisations who have joined this fantastic initiative.  Over £100k has been raised for the Fund and this will make a long-lasting positive impact on the local community. Addressing issues, such as homelessness and mental health, are of paramount importance to Bravura and I look forward to continuing our philanthropic efforts in the long term and seeing the positive differences it will make.

When Fintech Meets Philanthropy

As a global fintech provider, Bravura has an international team of over 1500 employees worldwide, therefore, as a business, it understands the importance of caring for others and ensuring the positive development of people’s wellbeing.  Bravura is dedicated to building a better financial future for those in need, as well as physical and mental health aid. It continuously offers humanitarian support and invests in improving communities around its people.

According to Nigel: Bravura is always on the front line when it comes to supporting a valuable cause and I am delighted to have had the wonderful opportunity to participate in this fundraising project. The effective collaboration between Broadgate businesses has made this initiative a success. This proves that incredible things can be achieved when professionals from different backgrounds and industries are united by a common goal: helping others to create a brighter future.

In order to provide support to global staff, in 2020 Bravura launched its Diversity and Inclusiveness (D&I) programme, headed by Nigel Liddell. Its goal is to enable employees, from any social background, culture, religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, and ethnicity, to feel safe and free to express their authentic selves in the workplace. bEnabled is a recent addition to the D&I campaign and it focuses on providing support to employees with disabilities. Neurodiversity, social mobility, psychological and emotional well-being also form crucial parts of Bravura’s D&I agenda.
