Bravura Solutions Limited (ASX:BVS) (Bravura): the leading financial software solutions company, is today delighted to announce it has joined the City Mental Health Alliance (CMHA) – the community for mentally healthy businesses to further support ‘bWell’, the positive mental health and wellbeing initiative across the Bravura group.

The City Mental Health Alliance is a not-for-profit membership organisation providing expert consultancy, practical support and workplace mental health training at both the operational and leadership level. Through pioneering business-led and expert-guided mental health support, the CMHA works to provide increased mental health literacy, building an awareness of the importance of workplace mental health and seeking to challenge mental health stigma.

Megan Owen, Global Chief Operating Officer and bWell Executive sponsor at Bravura said: “We are delighted to be part of this initiative, joining other names such as Goldman Sachs, Lloyds Banking Group, Allen & Overy, Bank of England and Deloitte in leading the movement for change. We believe passionately in the importance of positive mental health and strive to offer an emotionally intelligent workplace environment.

“The wide-ranging ramifications of Covid19 have exacerbated what was already a growing need for quality mental health support. The compounding impact of remote working and the fact that no individual or family has escaped the stresses of the pandemic means more than ever we have to address this growing need. For us as a business we have highlighted a number of key triggers for change. Firstly, as we operate at a fast pace with high levels of agility required to deliver optimum outcomes for our clients, it is crucial that we are secure in the health of our workforce and have a deeper level of understanding of emotional wellbeing. Secondly, by fostering an individual’s positive mental health and a psychologically safe working environment we can directly impact performance. Thirdly, we strongly believe that support must be consistent across the breadth of our business, handshaking with our customers. With operations across the globe, it is important that we are ensuring the right steps are taken towards safeguarding the mental health of our staff, which I know will also positively impact our customers.

Owen concluded: “Positive mental health is already a key component of the Bravura culture and underpins our Diversity and Inclusion pillars. We have a growing army of mental health first aiders across the globe and our partnership with the City Mental Health Alliance will further bolster our commitment to supporting our staff with experienced and expert professionals who like us are committed to taking mental health seriously.”

As a member of the CMHA, Bravura will have access to the CMHA’s Thriving At Work programme which includes practical, evidence-based guidance on workplace mental health, a workplace assessment and benchmarking tool, and educational seminars for senior business leaders and HR/Wellbeing professionals.

Alison Unsted, CEO of CMHA UK, said: “We very much welcome Bravura to the CMHA community. By joining, Bravura shows that it recognises that it wants to make improvements in its approach to mental health and is taking active steps. And we are confident that the knowledge and commitment that Bravura Solutions will bring to workplace mental health will make the Alliance even stronger.”
