I am a Principal Client Consultant working in the Wealth Management division at Bravura. Generally, I am responsible for engagement with our clients and ensuring the overall delivery of end-to-end system solutions to match our client needs. I began at Bravura in September 2006, so I've been with the company for over 4 years.

Gaining broad experience
I have had wide and varied exposure to all facets of Bravura's Wealth Management division: project management and implementations, the software development lifecycle, integration and services, product development, service delivery management - amongst other areas.

International opportunities
A large part of my role requires onsite engagement with our clients that are based internationally, so I have had the opportunity to travel extensively in my role at Bravura. I have travelled throughout Australia, to the UK (including Scotland), South Africa and have had internal engagement with our New Zealand development team.

Exciting and challenging projects
In my time at Bravura I have had the opportunity to work on a wealth of exciting projects, based in varying global locations. In 2007 I worked on the initial development of a wrap product proposition, working with a new client and proposed new UK market entrant. This was groundbreaking work, which was very exciting. Between 2008 and 2010, I worked on the successful implementation of a new financial service administration system at Absa Investments (one of South Africa's largest banks). Seeing this project through from its initial stages to delivery, I found this project implementation both challenging and rewarding.

From 2010 to 2011 I worked on a key consultation with Aviva to implement market leading integrated solutions to meet its new 2011 Self Invested Pension Product proposition and requirements. Each project is very different and presents new challenges and learning opportunities - as well as taking me to different global locations!

I am an Associate Business Analyst and I work in Bravura's Melbourne office. In my role I am responsible for, amongst other things, design documentation, enhancement specifications and generally keeping up to date with the wealth management industry to be able to remain abreast of industry business needs. My role is client facing, so I get to deal with clients directly. I started with the company in February 2008, so I've been at Bravura for three years now.

Why work at Bravura?
At the time Bravura Solutions was a young company which suggested to me that there would be lots of growth and exciting developments - I wasn't wrong! Also, the fact that the company is global was really attractive to me. On a more personal level, the fact that Bravura Solutions is a software vendor was a real drawing point for me. Working with software allows me to work at the backend of the industry, rather than at the forefront like you would, for example, at a funds management organisation. I get to work with the nitty gritty details and have gained a more holistic knowledge of the field. Being in the IT industry and working for a software vendor means working with technical staff, giving me wider exposure to different teams and dynamics, more so than at a funds management company.

Foundations for growth at Bravura
I began at Bravura Solutions as a Client Support Consultant, a role that constantly evolved and provided me with great experience. I was promoted to my current position last year.

Exciting experiences and building skill sets
In my time here I have had exposure to a wide range of areas, for example research and development projects, major client upgrades, user acceptance testing, testing, documentation, and I have also been given the opportunity to deal with clients directly. In terms of more practical expertise, I have been able to continually enhance my documentation skills and build up technical and industry experience. I think the areas that I have found the most exciting since working at Bravura are working on onsite client projects, and generally the range of experiences that I have had the opportunity to gain. When dealing with onsite client projects I have had some fantastic exposure to challenging issues and have learned new problem solving methodologies. My position is fast paced and I have been given tests of pressure and determination, which have inevitably enhanced my personal and professional growth. In terms of experiences, I have also had the opportunity to liaise with senior management (both internally at Bravura and with clients). Overall, being in the frontline of business and working on rewarding tasks that make a true impact on business processes has been really exciting and professionally gratifying.

I'm a member of the Babel team; my title is Consultant Developer. Primarily, I'm one of the lead developers on Babel, with fairly broad technical responsibility for design and implementation of whatever the team is working on at the time. I also have a reasonable amount of involvement in requirements gathering and client contact and support, as well as a good deal of involvement in documentation writing. I started in November 2006, and have been at Bravura for over four years.

Why work at Bravura?
When the guy across the desk in my job interview promised an environment that understood software development better than where I was previously, that was an immediate draw. The point that I was sold on was the opportunity to be part of a team of talented people and working with cutting-edge technology.

Beginning the Bravura journey
I began at Bravura in the Adelaide office as a Senior Developer on one of our web products (now integrated into our Sonata offering).

Gaining broad experience
Currently I'm on the Babel team, so my part in Bravura's world is focussed on financial messaging to achieve STP trading for transfer agency systems - both for Bravura's systems and third party ones. Before that, when I worked on the web product, I was focused on wealth management in the form of Sonata and Talisman.

Adelaide to Auckland, then to London, via Warsaw and Luxembourg....
Well I'm not world-famous yet, but I've had fun doing some travelling! My work with the web product happened in Adelaide, where I lived, but also took me to Auckland to work with the Sonata team briefly. The catalyst for some jet-setting came after that though, flying to London and Warsaw to help out with technical due diligence as part of Bravura's acquisition of GTAS and the team that builds it. A few weeks in Luxembourg on the way home introduced me to Babel, and after that, I was seconded to Europe for a couple of years to work on that - initially in Luxembourg for a few months, and then in London since April 2009. Right now, I'm temporarily back in Adelaide, but will head to London again to keep working on Babel there.

Exciting experiences and challenging projects
My most exciting experience at Bravura was the opportunity to move to Luxembourg and then London to work on an overhaul of the Babel product. There were a lot of tricky challenges involved - technical, business and organisational - and we had to address them in a very limited time span. Personally, I find it rewarding that the results are a better product and with satisfied clients. In particular, the technical side - which involved re-implementing the whole Babel product, from the ground up - gave me a chance to do some interesting design work, and to write a lot of interesting code. Of course, not to be forgotten, the travel was fun, too!

I am a Technical Lead / Senior .NET Developer working on Bravura's Rufus system. I Work out of the Warsaw office in Poland and I started with Bravura Solutions about 18 months ago as a .NET Development Team Leader before being promoted to my current role.
As a Technical Lead my responsibilities are to provide solution and technical designs. I'm also involved in research and development, which mostly involves research on the adoption of new technology in our products, as well as the design of architectural patterns that will be used in the development team.

I love to create software, especially for big enterprise customers. There is no better place for doing that than a software house that implements solutions for the biggest companies on the market.

Gaining broad exposure
My team implements Bravura's Rufus application, which is software dedicated to the transfer agency sector. So I have had exposure to everything related to fund maintenance, money transfers and customer communication.

Travel opportunities
I'm part of the Polish team based in Warsaw, but my first five months at Bravura were spent in the London office. During that time I participated in business and technical training, as well as helping with Rufus development.

Exciting and challenging projects
The most exciting project I have worked on at Bravura is the one I'm working on currently. I am engaged in planning and performing a proof of concept of a migration of all of our Rufus applications to a Windows server 2008 R2 and IIS 7.5. It is a challenging project because these technologies are very new and we need to prove that they will be sufficient for us. Additionally, I need to go through all Rufus applications and components, giving me an overview of the solutions that we provide for our customers.
